Hello and welcome. I’m Roeun Sokchea, a legal professional who is passionate about education and managing resources responsibly.
Academic and Professional Foundation
I began my legal career after getting a law degree from the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE) in Phnom Penh. For over 8 years, I have worked on land rights and the management of natural resources. My work has taken me across Cambodia, where I focus on how laws impact people who depend on the land.
The Purpose of This Hub
I created sokchearoeun.com to share information and help people understand how we manage our natural resources. I believe clear information makes complicated rules easier for everyone to follow.
Here is what I want to achieve with this website:
- Translating Policy: I explain broad policies and national laws in simple terms for researchers and community members.
- Building Legal Literacy: I provide guides on topics such as community land registration to explain how current systems work.
- Researching Sustainable Livelihoods: I share what I learn about how sustainable development can protect the environment and help families stay safe.
Independent Analysis
Please remember that everything on this blog shows my own views and personal analysis. The information here is for learning and research, using general ideas to help us all learn together. I hope that by making information easier to access, I can help everyone get the knowledge they need to make a positive difference in Cambodia’s future.
